At the end of this activity, students should be better able to (select as many as apply):
be innovative and original
have a sense of aesthetics
Divide the class into groups of 5 or 6.
Based on the content they have just learnt, groups have to create an infographic to clearly present this information. Groups can decide what information to include and how they want their infographic to be presented.
Tell them points will be given based on the following criteria:
- clarity of information (10 points maximum)
- accuracy of information (10 points maximum)
- originality of infographic (10 points maximum)
- aesthetic value of infographic (10 points maximum)
Give the groups 30 minutes to complete their infographics.
Once all the groups are done, get each group to present what they have done.
After all presentations are complete, award points based on your best judgement
45 MINUTES
None
Having to decide how to present their information in a way that is clear and correct, yet still appealing and different allows the groups to work on their originality as well as their sense of aesthetics, without compromising on content. They have to not only consider WHAT they are adding, but also HOW they are adding it and HOW it will be perceived by others. Will they understand it? Will they find it appealing?
