At the end of this activity, students should be better able to (select as many as apply):
be innovative and original
use lateral thinking
Divide the class into groups of 5 to 6.
Tell the groups they are going to design a tabletop game based on the content they have just learnt.
Either the theme of the game is around the content learnt or the mechanics of the game is based on the content learnt.
The game CANNOT be a trivia game where the purpose is to just answer questions. Other than that, the groups are allowed to design the game anyway they want.
Give them 40 minutes to brainstorm and plan, then share their ideas with the class
45 MINUTES
None
Thinking about how to use content in a way that is different and fun gets students to consider ways in which it can be applied. This promotes innovation, originality and lateral thinking in the problem solving process
